Japanese brown paper prayer sheet, rolled and glued into a cone, approx. 6 inches tall, ca. 1959-1965.
During his stay in Japan, Byars made about two dozen of these cones from the paper prayer sheets found the at entrance to some Japanese temples.
The collection contains one such cone, which was loaned to MoMA PS1 for a 2015 retrospective on Byars.
